10th and 11th month

..Christmas Card

moving right along in 2010

Hello everyone and my sincere apologies for keeping our exciting updates from you for the past 2 months. Long story short...
Lyric is WALKING!!!
She says: dada, mama, cat, kitty, doggie, this, that, more, and I swear she said donkey one time
She has 8 teeth
She absolutely LOVES to dance
She giggles and laughs and squeals, all of which makes our hearts smile
She plays patty cake and does itsy bitsy spider
She waves bye-bye, blows kisses, and now smacks her lips
She loves to pat her baby doll's back and rock it while she dances
Her new thing is she tells us when it's nap time: All of a sudden we'll look up and she's gone, then she comes walking down the hall carrying her blankie that she pulled from her crib. Awww

I can't believe I just had to send out invitations to her 1st birthday party-that's crazy!! She has grown so much, so fast, and we love her to pieces. We are looking forward to meeting her cousin and our 1st niece(or nephew) in a couple of weeks when Rainnie and Ramon have her(or him)! Nothing is sweeter than to know the joy that people experience with the birth of their own baby. Good luck to them!

Love you all and will try to be better with updates!

Pumpkins for sale

We went to my parent's for Lyric's first 9 month photo shoot and also made a trip to their local pumpkin patch.

New this week:  She claps and she LOVES to dance to her singing bear that Mimi gave her when she was born.  (I'll post the video if I can ever figure out how, so until then...I've posted a picture of Lyric dancing and giving her bear kisses.)  Her appetite has kicked into high gear and she is eating like a champ!  We tried cheddar cheese today and it was love at first bite!  (Like mother like daughter, I guess!)  Also noteworthy news this week is that we are FINALLY sleeping through the night again!  Amen!

At her 9 month well visit, she weighed 16 lbs, 10 oz and is 24" long.

Lyric is 9 months old!

We are so blessed and amazed at everything Lyric has brought to our lives.  This 9 months has come very quickly and she continues to take our breath away every day.  Here is a look at her 8th month.

Da-da Da-da Da-da Da-da, Da!

The day has come!!  Her first word....Da-da!!  My mom and I had just pulled her out of the tub when she started babbling.  We looked at each other and said, 'that sounded like she just said "Da-da"!'...and before we finished that thought, she let out a very clear Da-da.  I ran to get Nick and his first reaction was to say that it didn't count since she is not yet talking to him, or about him.  However, since he has heard it all morning, he agrees that this is officially her first word~time to grab a pen and dust off the baby book!

We took Whatley family portraits for LuLu's birthday, so I'll post the link in a couple of weeks to share.  She, of course, was absolutely adorable in her new little outfit from etsy!  I'll take her out for my own 9 week photoshoot in Austin once it warms up again...hopefully next weekend.

Happy, happy birthday to Pom Pom, LuLu, and Uncle Jeremy!!!

Cold season continues

I wish I could update saying all is well is the great city of Hutto, TX, but this is not the case.  Lyric and I are both coughing up a storm (literally-it has been raining all week) and I am ready for a brighter day.
Since my last post, we went to The Woodlands for my sister's fabulous wedding and we are so happy to have Uncle Daniel as part of our family!  I will try to post some pictures soon...I just have to find some.  Miss Lyric didn't nap that day and couldn't make it through dinner at the reception, so she and Gami wrapped it up and called it a night.  Then, hours later (after the reception was over) Nick and I are headed for the ER, where we would spending the next 5 hours waiting to make sure Lyric did not have pneumonia or a return of the Swine Flu.  Long story short-she is perfectly fine.  My nighttime cold meds are now kicking in so I must say goodnight, sleep tight, and say a prayer for Lyric tonight.

New this week: she is so affectionate and kisses everything in site: herself in the mirror, her books, her toys, her Stassy cat, and many for mom and dad of course!  I always preview my pictures on our camera so I can let her look at herself and she has to kiss every photo-it is adorable!!  At 8 1/2 months, she is moving quicker by the second and zips around furniture.  The other day, I was meeting Nick at the store, and he said to me over the phone-"Well...I found something I think I want."  I immediately think, great!  NBA 2k10 just came out and all we need is another video game!!  To my surprise, he had picked out a little walker lion that she can push around and later ride.  She wants to go so fast with it that we have to sit in front as speed bumps.  (And I must add that she had to give kisses to every toy she laid her eyes on...I can't wait for Christmas!!)

Swine Flu

Most of you know we just recovered from the Swine Flu.  Baby girl is doing very well and didn't let the flu slow her down...you would've never known she was sick by looking at her!  Lyric's Gami came to see us last week and we are so fortunate she was able to stay and help with her.  Thank you Gami!

This is from one of many visits to the doctor

In honor of the Texas vs Tech game today, I've posted the pictures below for Uncle Jeremy.

New this week: I discovered Kid to Kid, a kids consignment shop.  I highly recommend all of you moms find one near you or to come visit us and we'll go to mine.  :)  I bought 8 outfits and a halloween costume for her for $22!! I tried her little fairy costume on right away and discovered it's nearly impossible to get off once it's over her head-I had to cut the strap in order to pull it off!!  No worries, though- I'll have a friend fix it and we are good to go!

We are having to learn to sleep through the night again, after being sick, so say your prayers for us!
